Nepal had been in lockdown since March 24th. All businesses had been shut except for hospitals, pharmacies, supermarkets and grocery stores. Many daily wage workers like brick factory workers, construction workers, garbage collectors and many families had been affected by the lockdown and at risk of starvation as we face this pandemic crisis around the world. There are also refugee communities in our midst that are in need of food supply.

In early April, B4T had raised  funds to distribute food relief packs to 350 families and 2 orphanages with 40 children, a total of more than 1500 individuals with rice sacks, lentils, oil, salt and other essential items so they can have food supply for 3 – 4 weeks during this lockdown. We work in partnership with local NGOs and leaders to reach the communities in need. Phase 1 of the relief had fully been distributed to the communities in need in Kathmandu, Hetauda, Makwanpur, Birgunj and other areas across Nepal. At the time of writing this, we have raised additional funds for Phase 2 of the relief, as the lockdown had now been extended further to May 18th in Nepal, with a likelihood of even further extension depending on the COVID-19 situation in the country. More needs will continue to arise as the lockdown extends further.

Please pray for these communities in need that may the Lord continue to provide for them and may they know the true Giver of Life. May the Lord bless all the brothers and sisters who contributed generously to the relief fund in spite of their own circumstances back home where their businesses and jobs had been affected as well. It is Almighty God that continues to provide, touch hearts and move hands to give generously. To Him be all the glory.
